Would you expect to find the world largest painting in a cemetery? How about breathtakingly beautiful stained glass reproduction of DaVinci's The Last Super? L.A. is filled with unique places to visit and cemeteries are no exception. Our adventure will take us to five incredibly different and fascinating memorial parks, where you'll see incredible art pieces, mosaics, unique exhibits, mysterious crypts, famous graves and many surprises you'd never expect to find in a cemetery.
Our tour starts at the Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Memorial Park where we will see America's largest historical mosaic, Plaza of Mesoamerican Heritage displaying incredible artifacts from the Aztecs, Mayans and other ancient civilizations. Enjoy the beauty of the Heron Fountain and marvel at Charles Cassou's The Diana Group once part of the Hearts Collection. We also visit the graves of Lucille Ball, Bette Davis, Sandra Dee to name a few. Then move on to the Forest Lawn Glendale Memorial Park the final resting place of Michael Jackson, Walt Disney, Spencer Tracy and many others, where we will see the incredible stained glass reproduction of DaVinci's Last Supper, the world largest painting, visit a museum with incredible art and bronze statues as well as the visit some of the famous graves.
Our next stop brings us to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery with it's incredible grounds, beautiful tombs and mausoleums, countless famous graves and a few ghosts. Hours could be spent marveling at everything it has to offer. From there we move on to Angeles-Rosedale Cemetery the city oldest extant cemetery, visit incredible mausoleums and the mysterious pyramid crypts. Our final stop brings us to Westwood Memorial Park known for the largest concentration of celebrity graves, most famously Marilyn Monroe. See some unique gravestones, while learning of about their tragic Hollywood stories.
